Who this guide is for
This guide serves Muslim communities living in Saudi Arabia: Arab residents (Egyptian, Levantine, Yemeni, Sudanese and other communities) and non-Arabic-speaking communities (Pakistani, Indian, Indonesian, Filipino and others), as well as Saudi families arranging a contract with a resident party.
Aqdk connects you with licensed marriage officiants in 25 cities across the Kingdom. The officiant arrives at your home or venue with his tablet and completes the marriage contract documentation electronically.
Requirements at a glance
Exact requirements depend on your case and are set by the official authorities. In general, prepare the following before your appointment:
- Valid residency permit (iqama) for both parties, and valid identification.
- Premarital medical examination from an approved center, where required.
- The bride's guardian (wali) and two witnesses, in line with the Personal Status Law.
- Agreed dowry (mahr) details and any contract conditions to be recorded.
- For special cases — differing nationalities, previous marriages, or missing documents — check with the competent court or authority first, as extra steps may apply.
Marriage between a Saudi and a non-Saudi
When one party is Saudi and the other is not, the case generally requires an official marriage permission before the contract can be documented. This permission is obtained through the competent authorities — the emirate and Absher services — not through the officiant or any booking platform.
Start the permission process early, and do not set a contract date or book the officiant before confirming that your case's requirements are complete. Booking an officiant does not replace the official permission, and requirements differ by case, so verify them from the official sources listed below.
How booking an officiant works with Aqdk
Choose your city, date and time on the booking page, review the available licensed officiants, and submit your request. Your booking is confirmed when the officiant accepts and you receive a confirmation notification.
On the day, the officiant arrives at your venue with his tablet and completes the documentation electronically. The parties authenticate through notifications and a verification code as shown to them in Najiz.
Najiz electronic marriage contract
Marriage contracts in Saudi Arabia are documented electronically through the Najiz platform of the Ministry of Justice. Booking through Aqdk includes guidance consultations that help you understand the steps to register the marriage contract in Najiz and prepare the required data before the appointment.
The guidance supports your booking and Najiz steps; it does not replace the parties' own submission and authentication, nor the competent authority when your case needs a special procedure.

Frequently asked questions for residents
Can non-Saudi residents book a marriage officiant through Aqdk?
Yes. Residents in the covered cities can book a licensed officiant through the booking page. The officiant documents the contract electronically through Najiz. Specific requirements for your case (nationalities, documents, special situations) should be verified with the official authorities before your appointment.
Do both parties need a valid residency permit (iqama)?
In general, valid identification and residency are needed for the parties' data in the electronic contract. If one party's residency or documents are expired or under process, check with the competent authority first, as your case may need a prior step.
Is the premarital medical examination required?
The premarital medical examination is a standard requirement for marriage contracts in Saudi Arabia and is completed at approved health centers. Confirm the current requirements and approved centers through the Ministry of Health before your appointment.
Can the contract be documented at our home or event venue?
Yes. The officiant arrives at the agreed location — a home, hall or majlis — with his tablet, and completes the electronic documentation there. Make sure the address is accurate and a quiet space is available for completing the data and documentation.
The booking page is in Arabic. How can I use it?
Use your phone or browser's instant translation feature to read the booking steps in your language. The steps are simple: choose the city, date and time, review the available officiants, and submit your request.
Does a marriage between a Saudi and a non-Saudi need a permission?
Yes, this case generally requires an official marriage permission from the competent authorities before the contract is documented. Begin it early through the official channels, and book the officiant only after confirming your requirements are complete — the booking does not replace the permission.
Is my booking confirmed as soon as I submit the request?
Submitting a request is not a final confirmation. The booking is confirmed when the officiant accepts and you receive a confirmation notification. Follow your request status, and contact support if the status is unclear before relying on it for your arrangements.
